Samuel Oppenheim Papers, P-255: This collection documents the research of Samuel Oppenheim, who researched the history of Jews living in the Americas during the 17th – 19th centuries, particularly those who lived in what would become New York City. Includes original records from the New York City Mayor’s Court, 1653-1760, transcriptions of early records of Congregation Shearith Israel, 1654-1921, and transcriptions of documents pertaining to prominent individuals and institutions ranging from newspaper accounts and court records to registries and ledgers, 1655-1938. A: 1650-1850.
