In recent years, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) DNA testing for genealogy has become increasingly widespread, because it can answer questions that traditional genealogy often cannot. Individuals can learn about unknown branches of their family, discover living relatives, and, in some cases, unearth family secrets. Still, genetic genealogy comes with significant challenges, and making genealogical discoveries through DNA can take patience and effort.
