CJH Guide: Archival Research at the Center

How best to find, use, and understand the archival collections housed at the Center for Jewish History.

CJH and Wikipedia Editing

Wikipedia editing is an essential part of the Center's ongoing endeavor to provide visibility and access to our partners' collections. Archivists at the Center for Jewish History are dedicated to promoting archives by writing new entries, editing existing records, and adding links to newly-processed collections. By making sure Wikipedia citations are accurate, current, and relevant to our user's needs, we can reach new patrons across the globe and introduce them to the unique collections found under our roof.

If you are a Wikipedia editor and would like to site a collection or items from a collection found at the Center, please use the following as guidelines:

  1. Citing sources on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources
  2. Please include the following information, based on the citation formats on many of the Center's archival finding aids:

Identification of item, date (if known); Full Name of Collection; Collection Number; box number; folder number; Partner Organization.
